Description:

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper in our Howard Beach, New York office. This role will be critical in managing various accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, cash and bank account reconciliation, and maintaining an accurate general ledger.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize QuickBooks online and desktop for various accounting tasks
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable effectively
  • Reconcile cash, bank accounts, and revenues to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain the general ledger, making adjustments as required
  • Create journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets
  • Monitor the business’ cash flow and take necessary actions
  • Issue invoices to customers and collect payments
  • Prepare tax returns and monthly, quarterly financial statements
  • Manage customer inquiries and maintain accurate customer records
  • Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Computerized Accounting Systems
  • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential
  • Proficient in Great Plains (GPAC) and Microsoft Excel
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required
  • Ability to manage the Annual Budget and perform Cash Flow Analysis
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory
  • Must have a solid background in Bookkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discretely
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required
  • Several years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
