Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Cycle Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure the accuracy of our accounting processes.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principals. Performs a variety of financial functions, including preparation, processing, and reconciliation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank accounts, payroll and balances accounts to the general ledger.
- Manage and organize all daily recordkeeping including general data entry, expenses, and credit card tracking
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of approved invoices. Processes cheque requisitions, prepares cheques for signature.
- Prepare deposits and banking as required.
- Maintain financial records, including ledgers, bank statements, expense reports and deposits. Reconcile and analyze monthly balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy of account balances including prepaid accounts, other receivables, accrued liabilities, inter-company accounts and unearned revenue. Investigate any large or unusual balances & provide explanations.
- Prepare financial reports and statements including producing financial reports on an as needed, monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Provide information to inform the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Provide required information to assist with the preparation of Wage Grant applications.
- Support HR functions by preparing bi-weekly payroll including updating employee records, vacation balances and preparation of records of employment as required.
- Preparation of Federal and Provincial tax reporting and remittances, including but not limited to GST, PST, WCB and T4’s.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors as necessary. ·
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years experience in full cycle bookkeeping.
- Certification or diploma in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Quickbooks Online, Google Workplace and Dayforce.
- Solid understanding of accounting principals and tax regulations in British Columbia.
- Familiar with BC Employment Standards.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
