For this position you would be working with our client from the European institutions. The IT unit within DG FISMA is responsible for developing and maintaining several IT systems that support both DG FISMA’s policy work and broader Commission needs. Some of these systems are also utilized by other General Directorates, with DG FISMA acting as a service provider to facilitate the Commission’s Digital Transformation and the implementation of EU policies.

• Design and develop APIs
• Development of back-end website applications
• Creation of servers and databases for functionality
• Implement core business logic
• Cross-platform optimisation
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
• Design responsive applications
• Taking lead on projects, as needed
• Analysis of the integration of different information systems
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
• Development of front-end website architecture
• Design of user interactions on web pages
• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
• Coordination and review of code and documentation
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation
• Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues
• Meet both technical and consumer needs
• Write technical documentation
