JOIN THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE SHIPPING WITH NORSEPOWER!
Are you ready to embark on a thrilling journey in the heart of maritime innovation? Norsepower, a pioneer in sustainable shipping solutions, is bringing sails back to shipping – and saving the planet at the same time. We are now seeking a dynamic and talented Full Stack Developer to join our team.
Norsepower Rotor Sail harnesses the wind to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of ships. It is the first commercially available mechanical sail for large vessels. It has a proven track record of successful operation since 2014. Norsepower’s project services cover all phases from sales to project delivery and operational support. Each project is planned according to the client’s needs and preferences.
In this role, you will join a dynamic team of five motivated Data Science and Software Engineering professionals. The team is responsible for developing the control system and IoT solutions for Norsepower’s Rotor Sail. As a Full Stack Developer, you will focus on developing an edge application for controlling the Norsepower Rotor Sail system on vessels. Your responsibilities will include Node and React development using TypeScript, as well as the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines in an edge environment. You will take ownership of the application as part of a small, agile team, enjoying the freedom to influence both the development process and the features built. With minimal bureaucracy and a strong emphasis on rapid, practical problem-solving, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant effect. Additionally, there is a possibility to contribute to a deep learning implementation.
This role presents a unique opportunity to leverage a modern web-based tech stack to control large devices aimed at reducing maritime emissions and making a genuine impact on the world. The position offers a degree of independence while still being part of a close-knit team. Ideal team members are practical, proactive, and adaptable to changing circumstances. To support the team’s ways of working, being in the office 2-3 days a week is encouraged.
