How do we work?
We are a team of 5 talented engineers working on the public facing
OANDA website
. We build and support the entire infrastructure used to deliver content and dynamic applications to visitors of our website. This website and its applications receive over 10 million views a month. We work with our design, content and marketing teams to deliver an informative and engaging website experience in multiple languages and locales throughout the world. Our team works on every aspect of this delivery pipeline, we build interactive dynamic apps, create reusable modules in Wagtail for our CMS, deploy Cloudflare workers to facilitate rapid content delivery to our global user base.

As a Web Engineer, you will:

• Work with team members, other development teams, Product Managers and UX Designers on delivering high quality features and projects.
• Contribution to the existing codebase and maintenance of existing products.
• Ensure high product quality through code reviews and tests to increase confidence in releases.
• Managing the complete software development process from conception to deployment.
• Create visually appealing user interactions.
• Develop frontend website architecture and backend web apps.
• Oversee the analyses, development, and execution of software.

What skillset you need, to be successful in this role:

• 4+ years of development experience with Python using classic Django (not DRF) with models, views, migrations, templates, custom tags, filters, etc.
• Good knowledge of HTML and CSS, Tailwind experience preferred.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript language.
• Good understanding of all parts of the web application stack.
• Strong debugging skills.

Nice to have:

• Any experience in content management systems like Wagtail and WordPress.
• Development experience in using React.
• Knowledge of GCP or Kubernetes, Cloudflare or other CDNs, networking fundamentals like DNS.
