REQUIREMENTS

  • Leaving cert or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years management experience in a cleaning industry
  • Proven people management skills and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Confident in use of information technology including Microsoft
  • Working understanding of all legislation including Employment Law & Health and Safety legislation.
  • Be available and flexible for early starts and late finishes, weekends, and bank holidays.

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE

To manage a team of Accommodation Supervisors and Assistants in all aspects of Housekeeping Operations. The Accommodation Manager is responsible for ensuring that the accommodation supervisory/housekeeping teams successfully meet the client/employee expectations on site in line with the SLA (Service Level Agreement) and Derrycourt policies and procedures. This includes training, coaching and developing the Accommodation Supervisors and Accommodation Assistants to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the hotel, client satisfaction and employee satisfaction are achieved within the specified budget.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build client relationships on a day-to-day basis whilst ensuring that housekeeping cleaning standards are not compromised.
  • Responsible for all elements of the cleaning service on site i.e. people management, communication, customer service, staff training in accordance with BICS standard, cleaning standards, equipment maintenance and health & safety procedures.
  • To proactively plan the housekeeping department on a daily, weekly, and annual basis in relation to staffing and recruitment as necessary
  • Managing the daily cleaning schedule of assigned rooms, bathrooms and common areas.
  • Monitoring and managing cleaning standards
  • To champion and promote Derrycourt Cleaning Services, seeking to avail of any business opportunity if it presents itself i.e. initial window cleaning, selling consumables etc.
  • Achieve turnover and budgets targets for the client contract and analyse and report on reasons for anomalies
  • Ensure that the site operates within the agreed payroll and stock budget.
  • To undertake hygiene audits on a regular basis and follow up on the actions to be taken.
  • Participate in Environmental Management Audits with the client
  • React to results of independent hygiene audits ensuring that non-conformances are closed out as soon as possible. For any non-conformances that cannot be closed out, escalate to the next level so that direction can be provided
  • Review client satisfaction levels on a Monthly basis and take action as required.
  • Ensure the SLA (where applicable) is being achieved and standards are being exceeded if possible.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA/JCI standards, checking that all legal requirements for health and safety are met in accordance with the required standards of the company and the client
  • Ensure you remain up-to-date in relation to any changes in the standards relevant to the accommodation industry
  • Work in line with the client’s local policies and procedures and ensure all staff are trained to comply with same
  • To continuously review work methods and procedures in order to maximise resources and efficiencies.
  • Regularly review service delivery and identify potential issues which may jeopardise the retention of the service.
  • Effectively use KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reports to manage client contract, where applicable.
