Description:

Trinity Western University’s School of Business announces a full-time faculty position in finance to begin in August 2024. We seek applicants with the ability to teach finance in the undergraduate and MBA programs. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in appropriate professional and scholarly activities, advise students, and carry out other faculty responsibilities.
The School of Business at TWU is one of the top business schools in Canada known for its high quality of education and career placement. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in business to 1000+ students. Our undergraduate programs are offered on the main campus in Langley, BC in a brand-new state-of-the-art building. Our MBA program is offered in Langley and Richmond, in Canada, and Shanghai, Tianjin, and Beijing in China. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are designed around business application with a focus on developing future professionals, general managers and leaders, and successful entrepreneurs for the global business environment.
All qualified faculty will be expected to teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs based in Langley, BC, and may be required to teach occasionally on our other campuses in Canada and China. The School of Business provides faculty with many opportunities, nationally and internationally, to enhance knowledge, skills, abilities, and the integration of faith within specific business disciplines. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • TWU seeks applications who are committed Christians and able to articulate the intersection of Christian faith and business, specifically related to their discipline.
  • An earned doctorate, or ABD, in Finance with a professional accreditation/designation (eg. CPA, CFA, CFP) is highly preferred.
  • Proven teaching excellence at a post-secondary institution is essential as well as the ability to interact with students as an academic advisor and mentor.
  • Five years of industry experience in a management or consultant role is preferred.
  • As a leader in global business education, TWU desires candidates who have an in-depth understanding of the global marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Applicants should have expertise in and be academically qualified to teach a broad range of Finance courses both at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Engagement with professional communities.
  • Model genuine Christian faith in and beyond the classroom.
  • Engagement with students outside the classroom, including advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings.
  • Intentionally and explicitly integrate the Christian faith with teaching and scholarship.
  • Participation in the work of the university, including serving on university committees as needed.
