ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our high-growth software company. Our ideal candidate has a solid background in computer science or engineering, at least 3 years of experience developing web applications, and a passion for building impactful software.
This is a remote role open to candidates based in Nova Scotia, Canada.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (we use React and Next.js).
  • Strong familiarity with web frameworks (we use Ruby on Rails).
  • Experience working with databases and understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to build software that’s been used by real users—show us your portfolio or projects!
  • A CS or Math degree is a bonus, but not required.
  • You care more about discovering “what is true” than being right.
  • Experience building for fun or exploring new technologies on your own is highly valued.

WHAT TYPE OF PERSON JOINS US?

  • You enjoy creatively solving problems and navigating different design solutions for challenging engineering problems.
  • You’re a person who is self-motivated, resilient, and quick to adapt to new obstacles.
  • You’re looking for an alternative to the corporate abyss.
  • You want a place where your ideas matter and impact significantly.
  • You value freedom, and you want to play on a winning team with others who feel the same way.
  • You want to help build a future where there are more events, travel, and experiences, not less.
  • It’s this long-term, bigger picture that makes you feel both inspired and engaged.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a leadership role by living our values openly.
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming.
  • Improve our developer tools, tests, processes, and technology.
  • Work with stakeholders to flesh out requirements and communicate tradeoffs in solutions.
  • Learn and innovate on new ideas by continually looking to improve how we work.
  • Plan and build product features that directly impact our customers.
