We are looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our team and play a key role in the development and delivery of technology projects that support our Tax & Legal core business. As a Functional Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements for custom-developed applications, primarily within the Microsoft .NET framework, that are critical to our core business functions.
In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, including business users, the development team, and global Deloitte member firms, to ensure that project requirements are accurately captured, thoroughly understood, and effectively communicated and documented. You will also be tasked with analyzing complex business processes, identifying potential improvements, and translating business needs into clear, actionable specifications that guide our development efforts.
Your responsibilities:
- Supporting business owners to identify product vision & mission
- Helping product owners to translate mission statements into product roadmaps
- Analyzing business requirements on the roadmap and using functional decomposition to define high-level epics, features and user stories to create a well-organized, value-driven flexible delivery
- Documenting interrelationships and associated business process flows
- Participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum Stand Up and Sprint Retrospective meetings
- Writing individual user stories that are very clear, concise and easy to understand for smooth implementation by the development team
- Guide the development teams to break down large and complex user stories into simplified versions for execution
- Creating test and release plans to ensure the right business requirements are implemented at the agreed timing in close collaboration with the scrum master and product owner
- Organize user acceptance and functional testing in close collaboration with the scrum master and product owner
- Working with the product owner to maintain an up-to-date product backlog
- Documenting acceptance criteria and facilitating sign-off
- Accountable for product release and associated acceptance signoff
- Active participant in the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) continuous improvement track for the Tax & Legal technology organization
- Ability to identify improvements in the ALM and flexible delivery processes and tools and/or functional analyst way of working

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in requirements analysis, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to navigate project dependencies and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced, agile environment.
KEY SKILLS:
- Ability to collaborate closely with SMEs, product and business owners
- Identify and analyze core business requirements and key product features
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews and workshops to gather and analyze requirements
- Develop functional and non-functional requirement specifications, creating detailed use cases and process flow diagrams to support identified specifications
- Provide comprehensive support to all stakeholders through training and documentation
- Ability to translate business requirements into a quantified product backlog
- Development and grooming of product backlogs
- Writing user stories resulting in a clear, detailed and complete understanding of features
- Ability to assist off-shore/nearshore and onsite testing
- Has experience working with agile methods and tools
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in an international environment
- Very good documentation skills with the ability to provide structure
- Profound presentation and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps is a plus
- Ability to think out of the box
