We are looking for a talented Functional Excellence Manager – Finance to join our team specializing in Finance for our Corporate Segment in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Significant relevant experience required, including managerial experience.
- Experience leading strategic and change efforts within a function or business unit; and the ability to make and drive connections across relevant work streams.
- Solid communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as ability to work comfortably amidst ambiguity important for success in this role.
- College, university, or equivalent degree required

Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:
- Enhancing Functional Effectiveness: You’ll manage and improve the overall effectiveness of one or more functions, ensuring they align with end-to-end value stream performance goals.
- Driving Improvement Activities: By partnering with various stakeholders, you’ll drive improvement activities within the function to meet performance objectives and enhance customer outcomes.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
- Process Optimization Skills: Ability to identify and implement the most effective and efficient processes, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and standardization across critical processes.
- Complexity Management: Proficiency in making sense of complex, high-volume, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems effectively, ensuring smooth closings and clean balance sheets.
- Strong Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to onboard new controllers and senior finance staff, coach and mentor team members, and maintain clear and consistent reporting and documentation.
- Robust Control and Compliance Management: Expertise in establishing and maintaining strong controls, tracking control remediations, and ensuring timely statutory filings and adherence to best practices across all entities.
