Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Help plan, monitor and deliver the FS provision to all apprentices that require FS support.
- Plan and deliver English and Maths curriculum and prepare apprentices for exams in Functional Skills as part of the Level 3, 4, 5 and 7 Apprenticeships.
- Bridge any gaps in our apprentice’s education and get them prepared for their examinations
- Ensure all learners receive an effective initial assessment, accurately identifying any additional learning needs.
- Ensure the process supports and informs the learning process, enabling individualised targets and goal setting and mapping progress throughout the programme.
- Direct and support any learning support requirements within the classroom to ensure effective support is targeted and planned for learners with Special Educational Needs.
- Complete documentation in an accurate, organised, and timely manner ensuring compliance with contract funding requirements
- Ensure assessment of learning is ongoing, effective, and delivered as per the assessment plan/ schedule.
FOR THIS ROLE YOU MUST HAVE:
- Experience as a Functional Skills Teacher, ideally within apprenticeships.
- Experience in delivering both remote and classroom-based sessions to learners, in both 121 and group settings.
- Attained English and maths at Level 3 or higher, along with a relevant teaching qualification and recent and relevant CPD which are essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to deliver to deadlines and prioritise effectively.
- Familiarity with functional skills systems, processes and materials. Knowledge of NCFE syllabuses would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with Learners with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities (LLDD) and people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
