Description:

Start Date: April 21, 2025
Contract: 16 weeks, Full Time, 30 hours/wk- Total 480 hrs
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Number of Positions: 1
Salary: $17.50/hr

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-Secondary degree (completed or in progress) in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Non-Profit Management, Social Work, etc.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector and a heart to help people with developmental disabilities
  • Must be fluent in oral and written English. Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin or a second language is an asset
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Familiarity with common technological devices and softwares such as Google Apps, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • All staff are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of hire. Candidates will be required to show proof of vaccination during the recruitment process.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, submit, and track grant proposals and supplementary documentation for government, foundations, and corporate grants.
  • Assist in coordinating fundraising and special events by seeking and communicating with potential sponsors and donors
  • Identify and build relationships with potential sponsors and donors by conveying the importance of supporting persons with disabilities
  • Fulfill grant reporting obligations
  • Research grant and sponsorship opportunities that meet the needs of the organization
  • Collaborate with staff team to develop new fundraising activity plans and strategies
  • Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions, with emphasis on virtual communication and promotion
  • Maintain support of existing donors and supporters by communicating updates and success of the organization’s work
  • Any other assignments as instructed by the supervisor
