Description:

You could you play an important role in helping us to raise vital funds for people in crisis? Our Fundraising Support volunteers are involved in lots of activities from collecting donations to arranging and participating in events across the UK and virtually. If you are interested in meeting new people and supporting us to raise money, this opportunity may be for you! This is an exciting opportunity for you to get involved by supporting our fundraising team. Every year, we organise many fundraising activities, events and collections across the country and virtually. As a Fundraising Support Volunteer, you can help raise money to enable the Red Cross to provide the support necessary to those in crisis in the UK and across the world – whether that is food, clothing, first aid, cash, healthcare, or emotional support. This is a hybrid - home and office based volunteer role. The Volunteer can carry out this role as an individual or can come together with other fundraising support volunteers to form a group. If the fundraising support volunteers want to come together, they can create a local fundraising group and agree a lead for the group who is a point of contact for the organisation. At present this is not coordinated by the BRC it is self-managed by the fundraising support volunteers. Expected commitment - Representing the Red Cross in your time, in your community. - Generating interest in your community in what we do and how they can help. - Supporting with fundraising activities (online and in person where available) - Actively supporting or organising support and participation at events and collections. - If forming a volunteer group: Organising at least 1 fundraising event and join 1 of our national campaign throughout the year. - Driving is preferable but not essential. - You will need use of your own phone and laptop/computer. Diversity Diversity is something we celebrate. We want you to be able to bring your authentic self to the Red Cross and feel that you belong. We want to create an inclusive environment and promote and spread the power of kindness. As part of creating an inclusive space we have an expenses policy that prioritises volunteers not being out of pocket for expenses linked to your role. If upfront costs are difficult, you can speak to your volunteering manager about this to find alternatives. We welcome refugees, asylum seekers and others currently in the UK to volunteer with us. We want volunteering to be accessible to everyone. Health and Safety Statement We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment and will also have a conversation with you to discuss and identify any adjustments you may need.
