Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in systems engineering or technology architecture, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Experience with observability toolsets commonly used in the financial services technology industry.
  • An understanding of the ITIL® framework and processes for Incident, Problem, Change management.
  • An understanding of the regulatory, and professional standards for financial services technology.
  • Experience in supporting trading applications (Electronic Trading, Pricing, Booking, Risk) running on Linux, Windows or Cloud platforms and proficiency navigating those environments.
  • Knowledge of investment banking front to back workflow and financial products in Forex, Fixed Income or Equity

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl) and SQL skills with relational database or Mongo DB
  • Experience with various CI/CD and monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, Splunk, JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible etc.
  • Knowledge in messaging middleware and market data system
  • Previous Experience in Forex Applications support is a plus.
  • Understanding of trade life cycle and financial products, ideally FX products including spot/forward/swaps/NDF/Options.
  • Previous experiences in a high-paced, demanding trading floor environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effective collaboration with trading desk and business partners

We’re currently seeking a seasoned Senior Specialty Systems Operations Engineer to provide advanced platform support for our Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization. In this role, you’ll have the chance to lead complex initiatives and contribute to the strategic planning of our computer systems and network infrastructure.
As a key member of our team, you’ll leverage your expertise to review and analyze complex technical challenges, making decisions on enhancements and improvements to existing systems. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering teams on change design and consulting with technical peers and managers to resolve support issues and drive new initiatives forward. With your solid understanding of technical process controls and standards, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of our technology landscape.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide production support for FX trading systems, including Electronic trading, Pricing, Booking, Risk systems.
  • Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure, moderately complex application upgrades and vulnerability remediation efforts, within the Systems Operations functional area
  • Lead team to meet moderately complex technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Act independently as a liaison for the line of business in support of daily inquiries, problem and incident management, project delivery, and escalations by following established guidebooks
  • Liaise with functional or operational managers to understand their current and future information needs and develop plans and schedules for integrating these needs into existing operations
  • Recommend solutions to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by automating platform activities to lower human intervention time on related tasks
  • Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Facilitate discussions on preventative action, root cause analysis and resolutions with service management
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, mid-level managers, vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and reliability
  • Provide training and mentoring to lower experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
  • Collaborate with development teams to update business continuity plans and provide input on development of new and existing support guidebooks
