Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

For our customer in the Space industry located in the Munich area, we are looking for a Constellation Planning Operator with wide technical knowledge on IT and telecommunications to help the flight and the ground segment engineering activities.
Responsibilities

Your tasks will typically include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of Weekly Timeline, Team Plan and On-Call Plan for routine Galileo Satellite Constellation Operations
  • Coordination of the inputs received by the different Teams involved in Galileo Constellation Operations
  • Maintenance of the team internally developed tools
  • Maintenance of the planning input database
  • Maintenance of the operational planning procedures and processes
  • Contribution to the training material update and improvement
  • Detection and reporting of anomalies on the ground segment
  • Supporting constellation planning from the Galileo Control Center in Italy (up to 1-2 times per year) for planned or unplanned scenarios, as required.

This is a full-time position, located at the customer site in the Greater Munich area, Germany.
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, as English is the working language.
The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills together with the ability to effectively cooperate within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate has an academic degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalent with knowledge and experience in following areas:

  • Solid technical background, preferably in IT or Telecommunications domain.
  • Positive attitude towards cooperative team working.
  • Ability to set priorities, as well as identify and resolve appearing conflicts.
  • Willingness to work in a multicultural, dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Comfortable with using Linux command line tools.
  • Comfortable with using VBA and Python.
  • An advanced level of English is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a Space Operations environment would be an asset.
  • Methodical, disciplined, and comfortable in working strictly following procedures.
  • Able to work fully autonomously and under pressure.
  • Able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress during
  • potential contingencies.
