Description:
ABOUT THE JOB
At sofatutor, we believe children and young people achieve their learning goals best when they learn at their own pace and can access different learning media. For this purpose, our team has created a digital learning platform that makes individual learning possible anytime and anywhere. We have recently launched sofatutor KIDS, an app for young learners, crafted by education experts, that turns screen time into an enriching experience and gives parents peace of mind. Engaging learning activities equip children aged 2 to 6 with foundational skills, knowledge, and a love for learning, setting them up to excel in their school years and beyond.
As a Game Designer with a focus on preschool games (gn), you will collaborate with us to scale up our app for kids with a strong emphasis on interactivity, fun, and learning. Our design team is responsible for combining the latest trends in E-learning with innovative design to offer our early learners an optimal learning experience.
Please note:
Our application process is currently completely location-independent.
You don’t live in Berlin? No problem, because you can work remotely within Germany and also in many other countries. Please apply stating your salary requirements and earliest possible start date.
YOUR MISSION
Our product accompanies users through their everyday learning. You will be part of the cross-functional scrum team that focuses on our new early learning product. Since we develop that product from scratch, we are always looking for new ways and innovative solutions. You will work closely with the Product Manager, a Researcher and another Game Designer. These are your specific tasks:
- You will work in a cross-functional team to scale up our early learning product for 2-6-year-olds by designing engaging mini-games, interactive features, and adaptive systems that cater to children’s developmental needs while addressing parents’ expectations, fostering retention, learning progress, and trust in the product.
- You will create rapid and high-fidelity prototypes to test and validate game concepts, mechanics, and features, ensuring they align with the product’s vision and provide a seamless, delightful experience for our users.
- You will contribute to shaping the product’s identity, enhancing its playful, child-focused world with mini-games and features that strengthen the product’s appeal to both kids and parents.
- You will collaborate on creating a design system that supports scalable, consistent, and innovative features while ensuring a cohesive and delightful user experience.
- You will work closely with developers to deliver high-quality designs in an agile environment, ensuring the features and games meet visual, functional, and technical standards while supporting the product’s scalability goals.
