GAMES ARTIST FREELANCE
Polar Media are seeking creative, passionate and knowledgable Freelance Games Artist to join our interactive department in our offices in Balham for a few weeks (with the potential of extension) and then to be added to our freelancer pool. We are looking for individuals who have an interest in science and technology and have experience designing and creating game assets, props, environments at different levels of optimisation.
A key part of this role will be working with our in house Unity developer to set up a clear Maya to Unity pipeline/system for models and textures.
At Polar Media, the interactive department work on severals projects at a time with a focus on science and technology brands. We engage audiences with experiences they’ll remember through an amalgamation of physical inputs, graphical displays and networking of data sources. In other words, we use any and all methods available to us to achieve the best results for our clients and ultimately give any experience we produce real impact. Our main need for game artists usually revolves around AR/VR, so some experience in XR would be advantageous.
Being in the freelancer pool does not guarantee work, but it will be the first location we go to fill roles.
We currently work heavily with Unity (but are looking to develop our Unreal pipeline) to produce mixed reality applications, so should have experience and be confident with modelling and texturing for Unity. We also have an in house animation team that works with Maya, so both Unity and Maya experience would be ideal.

Responsibilities:
- Working with the interactive team and client to build the most impressive and effective in game assets as possible.
- Design, model and texture game assets as required for the projects.
- Interface with the in-house animation team on best practise.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with the interactive team.
