John Holland, CPB Contractors and Ghella will soon commence design and construction work for the Sydney Metro West – Eastern Tunnelling Package.
With a contract worth $1.63 billion, the Eastern Tunnelling Package includes construction of 3.5-kilometre tunnels under Sydney Harbour between The Bays and the Sydney CBD, and the excavation of Pyrmont and Hunter Street stations. Starting at The Bays, tunnel boring machines will cross the harbour near the Anzac Bridge, before heading to the new Pyrmont station and then under Darling Harbour before reaching Hunter Street in the heart of the CBD.
This is the final piece in the puzzle to deliver the city-shaping Sydney Metro West project.
Once completed, Sydney Metro West will double rail capacity between greater Paramatta and the Sydney CBD, with travel times of around 20 minutes between the two centres.

GANTRY CRANE OPERATOR

We are seeking Gantry Crane Operators with tunnelling/underground experience to join our team. You will work as part of a crew and will be flexible to work day and night shifts during the project.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



• Proven experience as a gantry crane operator.
• Relevant tickets and licenses required.
• Previous tunnelling or underground mining experience.
• Strong knowledge, understanding and demonstration of OH&S.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
