The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an all rounder maintenance assistant with primary focus as an Irrigation technician. In this role, you will be working various roles within our maintenance team including but not limited to; Irrigation Technician, Gardener, General Hand.
This is a live off island role commuting to Daydream Island via the ferry daily.
Install, maintain, and repair various types of irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and automated systems.
Conduct system inspections to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve irrigation system malfunctions and inefficiencies.
Maintain all gardens, lawns and indoor plants to a high standard
Fertilise and herbicide spraying
Pathways and outdoor public areas are safe for guests and colleagues
Demonstrate safe manual handling techniques and adhere to safety procedures Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks, including repairing equipment, fixtures, and furniture.
Assess and troubleshoot issues reported by Front Office, Supervisors, providing efficient and effective solutions
Ensure all work is completed accurately and in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Proven experience as an irrigation technician or similar role.
Strong understanding of irrigation systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Cert III in Irrigation or Certificate III in Horticulture (Advantageous)
Drivers licence (Essential) Ability to work outside in tropical weather
Strong communication skills
Think on their feet and strong problem solving skills
Guest focused and project a professional image at all times
Team player
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work a rotating roste
