Description:
We are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist / Senior Garment Technologist with excellent technical garment construction fit, testing and grading knowledge, and a love of luxury garments to join a leading and highly successful luxury Brand.
The ideal candidate must have experience working on Tailoring, Outerwear, Casualwear.
This is a 12 month FTC starting as soon as possible.
This team is highly collaborative and therefore you must work well in a fun, friendly team.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o To support the Design Team in the creation of accurate 1st prototype specs and packs for the Supply Base that is in line with business standards.
o To make a positive contribution to fit sessions, proactively offering technical advice to Design and Buying in line with the brand’s standards & Golden rules.
o To liaise with the Designer & Buyer where alterations or comments affect price, quantity, or the critical path.
o To ensure that proto, fit and Gold Seals are to the specifications requested and that the make is in line with the brand standards & Golden Rules.
o To communicate specifications, amendments, and size charts to the Supply Base in a clear and understandable language, both written and visual.
o To deal with queries from Supply Base and to liaise with the Buyer when supplier suggestions or requests affect price or the critical path.
o To ensure that garments are viable for production from a cost and quality perspective.
o To regularly consult the critical path to ensure deadlines are met and to inform Line Manager where this is not possible.
o To ensure there is a test report (base) for all cloth/ yarn, interlining, trim, artwork at the proto stage.
o To ensure the relevant bulk tests & garment testing are requested, ensuring quality and costs are considered.
o To ensure a wearer trial is conducted on a new fabric, high risk style/ details and action taken accordingly.
o To visit the supply base when required: to develop and support new suppliers, carry out
ADDITIONAL TASKS:
o To make regular scheduled visits to the Warehouse, to support & train the team in the identification of poor quality/ poor manufacture/ customer abuse.
o To make regular, scheduled shop visits in line with trends/retailers specified by Design and/ or Buying team.
o To review the monthly quality returns report and take the appropriate action when necessary.
o To co-ordinate (with the support of the Buying team) and conduct a fit review, per season to ensure the brand’s fit is correct and consistent.
o To contribute to the annual evaluation of the Supply Base (SWOT).
o To prioritize own workload in line with Meetings Schedule and Critical Path
o Build and maintain good working & professional relationships with head office, store and warehouse teams.
