    Known as a Technologist internally within our business, Myer is looking for a Childrenswear Garment Technologist who will align with our QA & Merchandise strategy, provide technical advice and expertise in areas of trend, quality, fit, sourcing and compliance. You will work collaboratively with Buyers, Product Developers and relevant stakeholders to optimise product quality, production processes and financial returns to the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed product specifications for Agents/Suppliers with clear instruction relating to fit/size, workmanship, quality and construction details.
  • Ensure all approved apparel products meet legal, safety, and company standard requirements, by making commercial judgments in relation to products.
  • Update and maintain detailed technical and performance standards for key stakeholders.
  • Organise and conduct effective fit sessions to provide technical advice and corrections to fit, design and construction to all stakeholder, and deliver a 3 day turnaround from sample received date.
  • Manage product quality, as per BRAND DNA through store audits, customer feedback and benchmarking industry standards
  • Mentor, educate & share knowledge & learnings with buying teams and QA team

    About You:

  • 2 years+ experience in a Garment Technologist role within a wholesale or retail environment - experience in Childrenswear highly regarded

  • Demonstrated experience in woven/cut & sewn and fully fashioned knitwear product types
  • Tertiary qualification in garment manufacture and or patternmaking
  • Proficiency in Excel, formulas and spreadsheets
  • Strong organisations skills with ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Sound understanding of body shape, grade and proportions and a detailed eye for balance, styling, and quality
  • Ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with multiple stakeholders and work cross-functionally
  • A confident, enthusiastic, self-motivated team player
