Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Due to continued successful growth, we have an excellent opportunity to join our Fortem team working permanently for our contract with Amplius Housing group as a Gas Engineer. The Gas Engineer will be responsible for most aspects of property maintenance and repairs to Social Housing Properties covering a patch mainly within Northamptonshire and the surrounding areas, so travel is essential. Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm As a Gas Engineer you will be ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. Takes ownership of work, aiming for successful turnarounds times, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional on site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
The role involves carrying out planned central heating installations, along with gas maintenance servicing to the properties which fall under this contract. Ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. Carry out fault diagnosis and communicating additional works required back to your Supervisor/Line Manager to ensure all follow-on works have been captured, leaving the resident assured. You will take ownership of work, aiming for ‘First time Fix’ on all jobs whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. You will also operate within company Health and Safety guidelines and remain up to date with technical and legal requirements of your skill areas. Typical work will comprise of day to day repairs/maintenance, short duration service, renewal or refurbishment works to properties. Completing work for all properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines. • Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required • Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects. • Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices • Affording excellent customer service to client representatives • Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner • Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times • Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures • Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work
