QUALIFICATIONS

  • Driving licence
  • CITB or equivalent in site safety management (SSSTS/ SMSTS)
  • Gas Passport
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in supervisor position
  • Understanding of HSG47
  • Understanding of MS Word, Excel, Project and Office Outlook.
  • Cadent/ SGN Competent Person (not essential but to be gained)
  • Temporary Works Supervisor (not essential but to be gained)
  • NRSWA (supervisor)
  • SC 1,2,3,5 preferred

Responsibilities:

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure compliance and manage all Gas Teams on the SGN REPEX London Construction Contract and support as required on Framework Contracts (SGN & CADENT) for a variety of work types (e.g., Mains Replacement works – Gas Services – one-off jobs etc.)
To manage and ensure the efficient and economic use of resources, materials, transport, plant and equipment to its best potential whilst ensuring safety is paramount.
Responsible for the Supervision of JSM teams on projects (number of teams assigned will be subject to work type, duration and complexity of works but to a maximum of 6) and ensure effective deployment of resources is delivered incident free, in compliance with JSM company policy and procedures, client specifications and standards, to program and within budget.
To work alongside, and support where necessary, the client’ management team on a daily basis to ensure the JSM teams meet all the required targets/ KPIs on safety, required outputs, budgets, customer interface etc.
Continuous development of client and supply chain partner relationships and where identified implementation of cost-effective innovations to the business.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Co-ordinate and manage all operational aspects associated with the project scheme ensuring delivery to meet all targets.
  • Co-ordinate and manage all assigned resources including plant & labour
  • Ensuring contract administration in accordance with the company integrated management system (IMS) and contract terms and conditions.
  • Promotion and implementation of SHEQ policies and procedures.
  • Participation in delivery of site safety briefings and toolbox talks
  • Ensure that all health safety quality and environmental requirements pertaining to the project are in place and monitored.
  • Encourage the reporting of near misses
  • Regular (daily) site visits to the teams and project progress reviews with the JSM senior OPs management.
  • Identifying opportunities for introduction of new innovations and industry products
  • Work closely with the Client’s management team to ensure successful planning of the sequence of the work, establishment of key dates and the workforce required by the project works.
  • Provide weekly progress reports to JSM management so progress of work & finances can be monitored.
