  • Educated to degree level in a relevant science or engineering subject.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Experience with dry low emissions gas turbine combustion equipment, including an understanding of design intent, technical specifications, performance and emissions.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of technical projects to cost, quality and time, engaging closely with customers.
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly as a member of a team and across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • An effective communicator at all levels.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.

  • Broader gas turbine knowledge.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and future environmental legislation relevant to power plant.
  • Additional language(s).

Responsibilities:

  • To provide expertise in gas turbine combustion to existing operational assets and to support the development of Uniper’s low carbon projects. Whilst expertise is not expected in all the following fields, the candidate should be familiar with more than one of the following:
  • Low-emission gas turbine combustor design and operation
  • Gas turbine combustion health monitoring
  • Gas turbine combustion optimisation, including familiarity with control systems
  • Investigation of combustion-related problems and system failures including, where appropriate, site visits
  • Impacts of natural gas variability/alternative fuels, including liquid biofuels, on gas turbine combustion performance
  • Emissions formation and environmental compliance, including accurate emissions reporting
  • Low-carbon developments of gas turbine combustion systems including hydrogen and biofuels
  • Take a role in customer relationship and business development opportunities. Focus areas are the Uniper generation fleet and Uniper hydrogen team.
  • Working closely with our other engineering and environmental teams to advise and inform on the development of low-carbon projects.
  • You will work with Uniper’s UK and European assets and project teams, sometimes at short notice.
