QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should have a relevant bachelor or master’s degree and at least 5+ years of experience as a finance leader with broad experience in finance management and reporting in a global setting.
Further the candidate should have proven experience as strong business partner with excellent understanding of client needs combined with a thorough knowledge of project business and driving finance transformation and/or operational excellence processes (including leading, motivating and developing remote finance teams).

Key shared accountabilities
- With the FD and FP&A Director execute the agreed upon financial strategy focused on maximizing shareholder value associated with the GBA; encompassing all value creation levers (e.g. capital allocation, capital structure, portfolio strategy, governance) with effective communication to internal & external stakeholders.
- Support the Global Accounting team, Group Control, Growth Organization and GSSC in identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline finance & non-finance reporting, quality of pursuits submission and investment proposal.
- Together with the other GBA SP controllers, GBA FP&A Directors and Corporate Finance colleagues, support the CFO in designing and implementing a successful Finance organization
Responsibilities:
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Being a business partner on a broad scale of topics ranging from Finance Transformation, pursuit review & support, M&A support, to Digital, IT, Technology and Sustainability reporting. This role is a Global scope/location, can be filled in any location in US and Europe.
The GBA Finance Director- Growth reports directly to the GBA Finance Director (FD). The FD is a member of the Global Finance Leadership Team (FLT) of Arcadis.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Act as a business partner to support the GBA FD and the GBA management team:
- M&A support, eg. new acquisitions, divestments and transfer from GBDP back to GBAs.
- Support the business on a broad set of topics like Digital, IT, Technology, Sustainability both in terms of content and reporting quality.
- Support getting the non-financial (ESG) performance reporting of the GBA up and running. Track and flag gaps and provide insightful analysis on performance. In due time, once mature, help to transfer this over to FP&A team.
- Support the business and FP&A lead with the preparation of capex / investment proposals. Take an active role in investment appraisal, evaluation and monitoring in the ordinary course of the business. Be the interface with Technology and the Transformation-Engine.
- Global Bid & Pursuits; support FD with coordination, upfront assessment of major bids and help to properly align our new harmonized pursuit process and MEPC+. Do so in strong cooperation with GBA Sales & Pursuit Directors and Country BA Finance, making sure relevant functional experts are involved and supportive.
Interact with global finance team:
- Take the lead and be the main GBA interface for the finance transformation implementation plan.
- Ensure appropriate implementation and application of new group processes & systems.
- Cooperates with Growth Organization team and controller to support and oversee the quality of pipeline, order-intake and backlog reporting.
- Ensure alignment with GSSC teams on non-financial reporting.
- Ensure alignment with the Global Risk Director & GBA Risk Manager on submission and quality of major pursuits.
