MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture, Environmental Economics or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on gender, livelihood development and private sector engagement – preferably in a relevant sector such as forestry, agriculture or mining, etc.
  • Working knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • National of Indonesia or resident of the country with valid work permit

Responsibilities:

Gender

  • Based on literature review and project landscape assessments, conduct a gender analysis relevant to the project’s circumstances and targets.
  • Based on this, develop a gender strategy for the project ensuring that women, men, youth and all relevant social groups can equally benefit from project interventions. Operationalize this through a detailed gender action plan, specifying entry points for mainstreaming gender into the project. Ensure that the gender action plan activities are fully integrated into project’s results framework and identify the specific budget requirements to implement these.
  • Ensure gender mainstreaming into the development of the project, including the results framework, activity plans, and budget.

Private sector engagement

  • Identify strategic approaches for the project to engage with the private sector for greater scale, effectiveness and sustainability of outcomes.
  • Conduct mapping of key business sectors with activities or supply chains linked to areas of importance for biodiversity, identifying potential partners and possible entry points for working with them, including for forest management planning, ecosystem restoration, biodiversity monitoring, as applicable.
  • Identify any potential “champions” such as companies who are at the forefront of ESG/ sustainable approaches within their sector
  • Develop a draft Private Sector Engagement Plan for the project
  • Provide concrete proposals for project activity plans for Component 3.

Livelihoods

  • Analyse the baseline situation in the target landscapes relevant for community livelihoods.
  • Propose concrete project activity plans for Output 4.1.2 and 3.1.5 on livelihood improvement.
  • Contribute to other components, as relevant, in addition to those specifically listed in the ToR.
