RTA Holdings is a retail, whole sale, manufacturing vertically integrated company serving the vehicle after market sales and installation industry. With locations in both BC and AB the company also has an exciting e-commerce opportunity across Canada. The company has been based in Edmonton since 1977 with a number of long-term employees working across the network.
RTA Holdings is currently seeking a talented Financial Accountant to begin work immediately - reporting to the Controller and actively involed with management.

The ideal candidate has:

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience at the intermediate accounting level dealing with full cycle accounting
  • Accounting/Business Degree or Diploma
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Month end journal entry preparation for a number of legal entities;
  • Detailed reconciliations between GL and supporting working papers as required;
  • Inter-company reconciliation;
  • Bank reconciliations for all entities;
  • Assist in month-end accounting for fixed assets, prepaid, and expense accruals;
  • Review of accounts payable invoice batches for proper expense classification;
  • GST/HST, and PST returns;
  • Prepare working papers for annual tax filings and audits as required;
  • Other reporting and analysis as required including monthly/quarterly corporate reporting, annual budgets, Stats Canada, etc.;
  • Knowledge resource for junior staff;
  • Analyze financial information and respond to management inquiries;
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian ASPE and other regulatory bodies.

Experience with SAPB1 would be an asset.
This position allows for some home office time along with an expectation for 3-4 days in office to achieve our monthly and yearly targets.
