Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a skilled and compassionate General Adult Psychiatrist to join our online team. This role will focus on providing detailed assessments and diagnoses for adult clients, including specialized assessments for ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties. As part of our mental health services, you will play a critical role in supporting clients through individualized care, while maintaining flexibility through a remote working environment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of neurodevelopmental and mental health disorders in adults, a commitment to client-centered care, and proficiency in conducting online assessments and treatments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Education and Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a specialization in psychiatry. Additional training or certification in neurodevelopmental disorders or related fields is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in adult mental health, with a specific background in assessing and treating ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties in adult populations. Familiarity with remote or online assessment processes is an advantage.
- Clinical Skills: Proficient in using diagnostic tools and assessments relevant to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and learning difficulties. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills to create individualized and effective treatment plans.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex clinical information in a way that is accessible and reassuring. The ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients in a virtual setting.
- Technological Proficiency: Comfortable working with telehealth platforms, electronic health records (EHRs), and other digital tools used in remote healthcare settings.
- Flexibility and Independence: Ability to work autonomously, manage a remote caseload, and maintain a high level of organizational skills to meet the needs of each client.

Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for ADHD, autism, and learning difficulties in adult clients. Use evidence-based tools and methodologies to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations tailored to each client’s needs.
- Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and oversee personalized treatment plans for each client, incorporating therapeutic approaches and, when appropriate, pharmacological interventions. Work closely with clients and, where appropriate, family members, to outline a supportive treatment path.
- Ongoing Case Management: Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on client progress, feedback, and changing needs. Provide consistent follow-up care to monitor effectiveness and client well-being, modifying the approach as necessary.
- Client and Family Support: Communicate complex diagnostic information and treatment options in a clear, empathetic manner to clients and their families. Ensure clients feel informed and involved in their care process, providing guidance on any concerns related to mental health and neurodevelopmental challenges.
- Collaboration with Multi-Disciplinary Teams: Engage with a network of healthcare professionals, such as therapists, psychologists, and social workers, to create a holistic approach to each client’s care. Where necessary, refer clients to additional support services or specialist care.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed, confidential records for each client, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices for mental health documentation. Ensure all sessions, treatments, and client interactions are thoroughly recorded to support continuity of care and compliance with UK healthcare regulations.
- Clinical Development and Supervision: Attend regular clinical supervision sessions and participate in professional development to stay current with best practices, particularly in neurodiversity assessments and adult mental health care.
