MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- JD degree and active law license in good standing
- 4+ years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house
- Knowledge of and interest in disruptive technology, financial services; prior experience working in decentralized finance and/or digital assets is a plus
- Ability to take ownership of projects and make actionable recommendations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize matters
- Track record of developing a moderate, well-informed, balanced, and nuanced perspective on regulatory matters and ability to translate advanced legal concepts into easily understandable terms
- Ability to proactively, efficiently, and accurately assess legal business risks in a fast-paced environment
- Track record of creative problem solving, excellent written and oral communication skills, and development of strong and trusted cross-functional relationships
Responsibilities:
- Act as General Counsel for Paradigm on a broad range of business interests and legal matters, including corporate, securities, employment, intellectual property, privacy and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with and support the Leadership on evaluating and communicating legal risks to internal stakeholders and external parties
- Take the lead in implementing, operating, and enhancing regulatory compliance policies, processes and procedures
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements
- Provide risk-weighted legal advice to management on contract negotiations, transactional activity, and dispute resolution
- Lead engagements with regulators and other governmental stakeholders across the region
- Perform legal research on regulatory issues and remain up-to-date on developments in decentralized finance
