Description:
Position Overview:The General Counsel will serve as the chief legal advisor for our organization overseeing all legal matters, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or post graduate law degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in relevant states(may be achieved within 6 months of hire).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor law, education law, or applicable experience as in house counsel.
- Strong knowledge of corporate, contract, and employment law.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support to the executive team and various departments.
- Provide counsel regarding corporate governance and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and agreements.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the companys interests.
- Advise on employment law matters and mitigate legal risk regarding employee relations issues.
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and provide training to staff on legal matters.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other stakeholders.
