In our continuous journey of growth and innovation, we are seeking General Ethics and Compliance Manager to bring fresh insights and expertise to our Global Ethics and Compliance department based at Carnival UK on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role will be predominantly supporting Carnival UK to ensure that its Ethics and Compliance Programme is effective at mitigating and managing risk in the General Compliance areas, including economic sanctions, anti-bribery & corruption, conflict of interest, and anti-money laundering controls, as well as management of our confidential Speak Up reporting hotline and other activities to support the principles outlined in our Code of Business Conduct & Ethics and supporting policies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Proactively leading and coordinating cross-functional working between the Carnival Global Ethics and Compliance Department and Carnival UK departments responsible for implementing General Compliance policies and procedures (typically HR, Finance, Port Operations, and Supply Chain). Liaising closely with Compliance leaders across other Carnival Operating Companies globally
- Responsibility and participation in internal audits and programme reviews to promote continuous improvement, track external criteria for new general compliance requirements, laws, expectations and best practices as well as keeping up to date with any developments in international laws relating to the relevant subject areas
- Creating metrics and reporting on the outputs of compliance monitoring activities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal candidates are those who possess the technical skills required for General Ethics and Compliance Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- An Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree level education in a subject broadly relevant to ethics/compliance activity (such as Law, Finance, Business Studies) or appropriate supporting training and work experience is required
- Previous practical experience applying and interpreting policy documents and identifying and adopting best practice
- Experience directing and assisting business colleagues in interpreting and applying policy documents
- Can demonstrate an understanding of the role compliance functions play in supporting businesses prevent and detect the risk of non-compliance with laws and regulations
