Description:

Marshall Canada requires a General Labourer in Moncton, NB to join our team. Reporting to the Supervisor Paint/Assembly, this role is responsible to provide general support to various departments on an as-needed basis. Most tasks have an element of safety sensitivity and physical demand.
Your responsibilities in this role:

Will require:

  • Operation of electric powered mobile equipment (sanders, grinders, etc.)
  • Operation of material moving equipment (lift trucks, hand trolleys, scissor lift, etc.)
  • Working from heights, working in enclosed areas.
  • Use of dust and respirator half masks. All team members are required to be clean shaven to allow for appropriate fit testing for the respirators.
  • Adherence to all Health and Safety, and Quality policies and procedures.

Duties include:

  • Sanding, grinding, blasting metal.
  • Masking and taping as appropriate to prepare containers for painting.
  • Installing components and panels into deployable shelters.
  • Fitting of machined parts, sheet metal brackets, pipework, pumps and valves to deployable shelters using hand and power tools.
  • Safe movement of containers and material around the facility using hand carts, lift trucks, and motrec, etc.
  • Kitting of required parts per shop orders in preparation for work stations.
  • Working in accordance with procedures (Housekeeping and good working practices).
  • Participation in continuous improvement activities.
  • Recording materials used and time taken on Job Cards and on the electronic job tracking system.
  • Due to projected manufacturing demands, there may be a requirement to work shifts and overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor – Paint and/or Supervisor - Assembly or delegates.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, and Environment issues.
  • Able to work in safety sensitive environments – working with power tools, driving equipment, working from heights.
  • Able to stand, climb, crawl, reach, lift (with and without assistive devices depending upon size and weight) and carry (with and without assistive devices depending upon size and weight).
  • Commitment to high quality workmanship.
  • Able to work well within a team and, following training, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to interpret and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.

Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kanban and SMED.
