Automation Control Solutions represents Emerson Automation Solutions, in Southern and Eastern Africa.
The General Manager will be responsible for leading the Sasolburg Operations in achieving its strategic goals and objectives through implementation of effective operational strategies, ensuring profitability, good governance and personal development. The General Manager will also be responsible to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and interfacing with areas across the business to ensure Regional Operations are optimal. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Automation Solutions and a proven track record of success, managing a team and driving growth.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Instrumentation Trade Test
  • Tertiary Qualification relevant to Position

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of eight years relevant sales experience
  • Five years industry experience
  • Process Plant Knowledge
  • Proven track record in driving business growth
  • Proven Sales record in the industry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • MS Office Suite
  • Business software exposure
  • Customer Service Orientation
  • Effective Time Management
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales and services plans to drive profitability and growth.
  • Ensure good governance practices are in place and being followed.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promote personnel development and retain top talent.
  • Implement and manage operational strategies and processes to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee cross-business unit operations, satisfying sales and services targets per business unit.
  • Manage product and services budgets and financial performance, making decisions to improve profitability and ensuring financial sustainability.
  • Represent the company in a professional and positive manner to stakeholders
