Since 2021 the City of Burnie has embarked on a systemic organisational review to consider how we enhance the City of Burnie to Work, Live and Play, creating a vision for the ages through our Strategic Plan ‘Making a Better Burnie 2044’.

We are seeking a seasoned executive with superior technical skills and leadership traits, who will not only steer the organisation towards long-term success and sustainability, but who will translate Council’s vision into tangible actions, realising a future to be proud of for the now and for the future.

As General Manager of the Burnie City Council, no two days will be the same. You will be responsible for ensuring Council’s operations are efficient and effective and its services meet the needs of the community.
You will have the privilege to lead a diverse team of highly skilled and engaged employees, the chance to connect with a passionate community who are eager to be part of Burnie’s future and to also deliver a $43.224 million budget in your first year, in full and on time.
