Description:
Southern Tyre Recycling are a waste management company specialising in Tyre Recycling. We are professional, customer-centric, and fast-paced.
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic hands on General Manager with a background in Waste Management to oversee operations of our Tyre Recycling facility and waste processing sites ensuring the efficiency of our business processes. The role can be based at any one of our sites (Cork, Sligo, Limerick, Lullymore, Markethill) with weekly travel required between all locations, it needs a candidate who possesses strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to excellence.
This role is pivotal in driving operational success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as an General Manager or in a similar role within a relevant industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies is advantageous.
- A degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred but not essential.
- Health and safety certification from a recognised provider is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals.
- Provide and control resource management and infrastructure for all sites as they continue to grow and develop.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Manage and lead a team of staff, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimise processes and enhance productivity.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Prepare reports on operational performance for senior management review.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
- Develop and maintain cost efficient logistics for collection of End of Life tyres locally
- Responsible for site collection of several waste streams. Manage and control stock to comply with environmental guidelines
- Liaison with suppliers to achieve best commercial results for outbound commodities.
