Description:
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Qualified Actuary with at least 10 years’ post qualification experience.
EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams and delivering operational excellence.
- Experience working within an actuarial function at a senior level in the UK (re)insurance market.
- Knowledge of IFRS17 and Solvency II reporting.
SKILLS:
- Excellent leadership skills, with an ability to motivate employees to achieve the company’s mission in an ever changing and dynamic environment.
- Excellent technical ability and analytical skills, with an ability to break down complex issues, identify messages and develop solutions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with an ability to create a clear narrative tailored to the needs of the audience.
- An ability to work in a team, interacting across the Branch and Hannover Re Group to develop cross-functional relationships, share and develop best practice and influence positive change.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The General Manager, Corporate Actuarial and Chief Risk Officer leads the Branch’s corporate actuarial, risk management and compliance functions. You will be part of the Senior Leadership Team of the Branch, acting as a strategic partner and adviser to the Managing Director.
The role requires excellent leadership skills, a natural curiosity, resilience, drive, strategic perspective, commercial and technical awareness, an ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders, and a deep understanding of the company’s business environment.
As owner of the Actuarial and Risk Functions within the Branch, you will need to meet the requirement of the UK Senior Management and Certification Regime.
