GENERAL MANAGER - FOOD AND BEVERAGE OUTLETS

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the Jetside Lounge, Globe@YVR, In Room Dining and Banquet operations at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with a proven track record in driving revenue, Brand and LQA standards, and fostering a luxury service culture. As General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the hotel’s Venues by overseeing day-to-day operations, developing training programs on delivering exceptional guest experiences, and supporting the overall growth of the establishment.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior management role within a luxury restaurant or hotel setting
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven track record in driving revenue and achieving financial targets
  • Strong understanding of LQA standards and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for maintaining high standards in all aspects of the restaurant’s operation
  • Ability to work effectively with programs including Microsoft Office, Open Table, Opera and Silverware
  • Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of the local culinary scene and trends
  • Must possess and maintain valid Serving It Right certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Work in partnership with Jetside, Globe@YVR, In Room Dining and Banquets to execute flawless operation
  • Recruit, train, and mentor, ensuring a positive and motivating work environment, ensuring a guest-centric mindset
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Empower and support colleagues to resolve guest issues promptly

Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to drive revenue and maximize profitability, while collaborating with the marketing team to create promotions and social events
  • Ensure forecasting accuracy and strategies to strive to achieve financial budget, analyze reports, find growth areas, optimize sales
  • Implement effective cost control measures of all food, beverage, labor and operating expenses

Leading Quality Assurance Standards:

  • Uphold the highest standards of excellence, as set by the Brand and LQA

Sustainability, Health, and Safety Compliance:

  • Actively participate in the Fairmont Sustainability Program, Food Safety Committee and determine department-specific action items
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both guests and staff implementing best practices related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety
