ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop strategies and initiatives to deliver continual improvements across the Home Assessing business relative to customer and employee engagement, reporting and systems
  • Work within the Claims and Assessing leadership team to develop well defined control systems that produce business outcomes that are; replicable, predictable, measurable, and scalable
  • Nurture a high performing and engaged workforce promoting a culture of “one team” across multiple working teams and locations
  • Design and execute the assessing journey from appointment to repair or completion
  • Work to increase organizational agility, scalability, and success in navigating change
  • Maintain the integrity of the Home Assessing model by driving continued strategic enhancements, understanding and adherence.
  • Lead the Home Assessing teams to deliver optimal claims cost outcomes, high level customer service in a strong control environment. This involves ensuring that the scope of repairs is reviewed for accuracy and that costs are maintained within the approved tolerances agreed by the board
  • Drive continued high performance across all aspects of the Home Assessing business with focus on the business strategy, key performance indicators and team capabilities.
  • Provide support and guidance for escalated customer queries and complaints, and cases referred to AFCA.
  • Ensure that the regulatory governance and commitments are met within the prescribed industry guideline and associated codes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

You are an accomplished insurance leader with a proven track record in driving performance and enhancing workplace culture. You excel in strategic planning and team management. With strong commercial acumen and a focus on continuous improvement, you effectively address complex issues and implement frameworks that support business growth and employee satisfaction.

You will also possess the following:

  • Formal qualifications in a relevant area (Communications or Business), or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Leadership and management experience commensurate with 4-5+ years in a senior level leadership role within a comparative organisational environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Home insurance and claims relative to applicable legislation, processes and industry best practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver operating plans to achieve KPIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, engage and develop others.

Responsibilities:

As General Manager Home Assessing, you will shape strategic control in our Home Claims division, optimising performance and continuously developing processes to adapt to the evolving customer and regulatory landscape. Key success criteria include leadership in repair cost management, customer outcomes, productivity, and genuine team engagement. You will play a pivotal role in developing a scalable claims management business across all assessing and repair activities, maturing leadership capabilities, and fostering a high-performance team focused on business performance and self-direction.
