General Manager (m/f)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Falkensteiner – a growing, 360° Hospitality Group, operating in 6 European countries, is currently looking for a General Manager who is a strong, hands-on operational role model with a passion for hospitality, a charismatic presence, and with excellent communication skills. This leader will develop and oversee the operation of the largest 5-star medical and wellness Spa Hotel Resort in the region, driving long-term growth and consolidating leadership in guest recognition and innovation. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational and motivational leader, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in guest services and experiences while maintaining strong relations with all stakeholders in the company. Additionally, he/she will play a key role in building a high-performing team through strategic recruitment, staff training, and development programs.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Inspirational Management:
- Serve as a hands-on operational role model, leading by example and setting high standards for the management team and staff.
- Inspire and motivate the resort staff to achieve excellence in service delivery and operational performance.
- Provide leadership that is both passionate and charismatic, fostering a positive, dynamic, and results-oriented environment.
- Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of health tourism as the principal travel motive for all customer segments and distribution channels
- Develop and implement strategic plans to position the resort as the leading medical and wellness spa resort in Czech RepublicOPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE:
- Oversee the daily operations, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
- Be actively involved in key operational areas, ensuring hands-on management and attention to detail across Spa, F&B, rooms division, guest services, and more.
- Implement continuous operational improvements and best practices to streamline processes and elevate service standards.COMMUNICATION:
- Prepare and present clear, concise reports, growth strategies, and performance updates to key stakeholders.
- Communicate business performance and future growth plans with in-depth knowledge, passion and confidence, building trust and ensuring alignment.GUEST SERVICES & EXPERIENCE INNOVATION:
- Continuously elevate the guest experience, developing new and innovative services and offerings that set the resorts apart from competitors in the region.
- Lead a guest-centric approach, ensuring feedback is addressed proactively and guest satisfaction is consistently improved.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience, ensuring the resorts deliver world-class service.FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
- Oversee the financial performance, managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L.
- Lead and collaborate with GEC to implement revenue-optimizing strategies, including yield management and cost control.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and implement strategic cost-saving initiatives to maximize profitability.RECRUITMENT, TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:
- Lead the recruitment of high-quality staff, ensuring the hiring of individuals aligned with the resort’s luxury standards and vision.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive staff training programs, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
- Act as a mentor and coach to the leadership team, promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, and innovation.
- Inspire teams to perform at their best, driving employee satisfaction, motivation, and retention.COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT:
- Ensure all properties are compliant with local regulations, health and safety standards, and internal policies.
- Implement risk management and crisis protocols to safeguard guests, staff, and business assets.REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience as a General Manager in luxury resorts.
- International Experience in upscale hotel brands
- A passionate, hands-on leader with a track record of operational excellence and an ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and lead diverse teams.
- Expertise in financial management, including P&L oversight and budgeting
- Strong background in continuously improving guest services and creating unique guest experiences.
- A charismatic, inspirational leader with the ability to foster a positive, high-performance work environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is an important plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in managing resort properties, preferably with spas
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Knowledge of central European markets and local regulations.BENEFITS:
