Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing council with strong foundations in governance, staff engagement and financial management. The General Manager will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership - Aligning Council operations with the vision of positioning Narrabri as a regional powerhouse in NSW.
  • Organisational Performance - Strengthening accountability, fostering staff engagement and improving service delivery.
  • Financial and Asset Management - Managing long-term financial sustainability, overseeing major infrastructure projects and optimising revenue streams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Advocating for Narrabri’s interests with government, industry and regional partners to secure investment and funding.
  • Economic Development - Driving a diversified economy that balances agriculture, mining, energy and logistics while strengthening business and community development.
