Description:
We are seeking an experienced leader who thrives in a fast paced environment, and can inspire a high performing team. As a General Manager, you would be responsible for leading, directing, managing and overseeing the overall security screening operation within a Class A airport.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 5 years experience as a senior manager, including overseeing and developing a multi-level leadership team
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in the aviation industry and managing a unionized workforce

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Although minimal, must have ability to travel, as needed.
- Must be able to maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) Secret (Level II) Clearance
- Candidate will need to undergo and pass specialized training related to Screening Officer duties, but will not be expected to maintain certification
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the organization’s visions.
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may affect or are affecting completion of the operational requirement to key stakeholders.
- Ensure all protocols are followed as it relates to aviation industry, client requirements, legislation, or division specific.
- Responsible for the financial management, planning, systems, and controls of the branch. Continuously conduct financial reviews to remain current on the state of the business.
- Responsible for short-term and long-term planning, drive initiatives throughout the management team and in the organization that contribute to long-term operational excellence.
- Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between departments through communication with managers for successful job completion and operational compliance.
- Conduct regular operational meetings with direct reports to review performance results, customer survey and compliance scores and to keep employees up to date with corporate and industry changes.
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment. Liaison with Health and Safety internal community to ensure compliance.
- Support a labour relations strategy, aligned with operational requirements and is in support the company culture and values.
