Rare General Manager position now open in regional South East Queensland.
Cooloola Christian Radio Association Incorporated (CCR) operates an independent, Christian, community radio in Gympie Queensland servicing the greater Gympie and Cooloola Coast regions. All employed staff and volunteers are required to be people of the Christian faith with a current place of fellowship.
We are seeking applications to replace our current General Manager who has resigned to pursue mission work. The Appointee could commence work in 2024.
The job is for 30 hours per week and is paid at award rates including superannuation and leave loadings. Days and hours of work can be negotiated. The role incorporates securing sponsorship for the station and a commission is paid on all new sponsors.
We have over 25 years of service on the air as well as an on-line presence.
The appointee will have one direct report in the Office Manager who is employed 25 hours per week, one contracted announcer who works independently and remotely and a band of upwards of 20 volunteers.
As well as the radio, we also run an Op Shop, staffed by more volunteers.
Overview of the entire operation and the direct report for the Appointee is the CCR
Management Committee.
Experience in handling staff, volunteers, small businesses, sales and marketing and management/operation of a radio station will assist the Appointee.

• Management of the radio station;
• Liaison and direction for employed staff and volunteers;
• Overview of the Op Shop;
• Promotion of the radio and its mission;
• Selling sponsorship (advertising);
• Attending Management Committee meetings;
• Liaison with like minded organisations, overviewing bodies and the local Minister’s Network;
• Networking with other community and business groups within the Region.
