Are you ready to lead growth of The LEGO Group business across 4 very diverse and highly dynamic markets? We are looking for a dedicated General Manager who is expected to lead the RO/BG/IS markets to help us achieve our aim to reach millions of children globally with LEGO® experiences!
These markets are very different in terms of both culture and toy market maturity. As you can imagine, this set-up requires ability to set and implement a differentiated yet prioritised commercial strategy. REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate is an established general manager with strong commercial and Sales background, results orientation & track record. Focused, business savvy, ambitious and willing to overcome challenges to reach a long-term goal. Build trusted relationships and has ability to collaborate across different layers in the organisation. On top of these, they are an inspiring, passionate, and curious individual and leader. Open minded and flexible to adapt to changing circumstances; pragmatic and ready to “roll up the sleeves”. They care for people around them and create environment of trust and openness. They do not compromise on business ethics in any way and are experienced in establishing a culture of accountability and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Our General Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the LEGO business across very diverse markets. It means:

  • Driving the growth of the business by catering to the demands of our consumers and shoppers, as well as customers across all channels (LEGO Certified Stores, Toy specialist retailers, supermarkets, online retailers, distributors etc.) in an environment that is rapidly changing and highly competitive
  • Setting strategic direction for the business, which entails to translating the Group strategy into BU-specific sales and marketing strategies and designing tangible implementation activities. You must also put a strong focus on leading the operational side of the business and developing the existing and new customer relationships
  • Being responsible for the financial target achievement (consumer sales, revenue and profit) in the business units. You must drive an ambitious growth agenda in these emerging markets and ensure focus on profitability and strong financial governance.
  • Leading digitalization of the consumer journey and building e-commerce capabilities across the business unit and oversee deploying owned ecosystem, such as LEGO certified stores and LEGO.com
  • Leading and inspiring a cross functional team in Bucharest. Key functions reporting to you: Sales including B2B e-commerce and LEGO certified stores, Marketing, Customer Operations. You will have Key Account managers representing the Business unit in key geographies (Israel and Bulgaria), and will be supported by dedicated partners in Human Resources, Analytics and Finance, who have functional reporting lines. You will have 7 direct reports and the full team of 30 colleagues.
  • Our General Manager will be a member of the Market Group leadership team, co-managing 100+ markets across geographies such as Africa, Middle East, Central-Eastern Europe. In that capacity you will be co-responsible for creating the 3-year strategic cycle, being the chairman/driver of various market group wide transformation projects and be accountable of the overall business performance and governance
