Location: Sodexo Live is seeking a General Manager for the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba.
UNIT DESCRIPTION:
The Keystone Centre sits on approximately 90 acres in Brandon’s busiest commercial district and offers 540,000 square feet of multi-use all under one roof. The operations of the Provincial Exhibition, Brandon Wheat Kings and Brandon Curling Club are located within the Keystone Centre.
Principal Function:
The Keystone Centre is a premier event venue in Brandon, Manitoba, hosting a wide range of events from social, recreational, cultural and agriculture, and sports events. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Food and Beverage General Manager to oversee the food and beverage operation for the venue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day food and beverage operations within the venue, ensuring efficient service and quality standards are maintained.
- Manage multiple outlets within the venue (concessions, catering, bars, etc.), ensuring smooth operations during high-volume events.
- Monitor costs, revenue, and profitability; identify areas to improve financial performance.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring high-quality service and guest experience at all times.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns swiftly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved to the client’s satisfaction.
- Lead and manage a team of food and beverage staff, including chefs, servers, bartenders, and support personnel.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and high morale.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven experience in managing catering operations or high-volume food service environments.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, clients, and event organizers.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local food safety and health regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the event schedule.
