Description:
Wood Automotive Group is excited to announce that we are looking for a General Manager to join our growing team at South Centre Volkswagen and Okotoks Volkswagen!
The General Manager will be responsible for the success of the entire operations including, Accounting, New, Used, Parts, and Service departments.
The successful candidate will develop and execute plans to ensure the overall department operations maintain an acceptable level of profit. The General Manager will accomplish all objectives through planning, motivating and coordinating the activities of all operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Related management experience is required
- Experience in all aspects of managing a dealership franchise, with a proven track record in vehicle sales, service and parts and customer satisfaction
- The ability to motivate and develop a cohesive team throughout the Dealership.
- A solid understanding of retail and wholesale financing.
- Maintain a superior customer satisfaction rating.
- Create and implement new marketing strategies for continued growth.

Responsibilities:
- Plan the dealership’s operations of the coming year with the Dealer Principal and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
- Monitor and maintain acceptable Gross Profit levels in all areas of the dealership’s operations.
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with our related OEM, WAG, and related personnel.
- Oversee all dealership’s personnel functions, to include: interviewing, hiring, measuring and evaluating performance, recognizing accomplishments using HR resources.
- Review the compensation plans for all employees with consultation with Dealer Principal and COO.
- Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape employees’ attitudes and build morale
- Embrace long term strategies to ensure continued excellence in customer service and satisfaction.
- Develop merchandising strategies and assist in creating an effective, cost-efficient advertising and marking programs
