JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and reliable person to join the Tap Social Taproom as General Manager. The perfect candidate for this role will be someone who can confidently lead our team across all areas of the Taproom. Skills across floor, bar service, and communicating efficiently with customers are essential.
We are looking for a bright and friendly candidate who has experience training new members of staff and working in a busy and fast-moving environment, and someone wants to develop the venue and help it reach its full potential.
Suitable candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role and must have a proactive and friendly nature. A demonstrable interest in food and drink, a willingness to learn and ability to work as part of a team is essential.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Exceptional work ethic and proven ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, effectively managing multiple tasks
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Engaging and approachable demeanour, fostering positive working relationships and promoting a collaborative team environment
- A minimum of three years experience in a similar role
Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year

45 hour per week contract
Open regularly Thursday-Saturday approximately 4pm-midnight plus regular events Sunday-Wednesday and occasional daytime/morning events.

Responsibilities:
- Managing rotas and forecasting for the week ahead
- Focusing on GP while driving sales to the venue
- Working alongside the events manager to develop and introduce new events to the venue
- Assisting with stock counts & control
- Managing labour and cost budgets, working to a forecast, and responsible for overall profit and loss of the venue
- Working with the Area Manager to oversee & develop the wet & dry offer in the venue
- Acting as a brand ambassador for our social enterprise mission, supporting prisoners and prison leavers in the workplace and helping us to raise awareness with venue visitors
- Working alongside the Area Manager and Directors to develop and implement upgrades to the venue including to the space, layout, and decor
- Leading the team on shifts
- Maintaining cleanliness across the venue in all areas (front and back of house), being proactive in identifying potential areas for improvement and implementing new systems
- Managing bookings system and corresponding with customers to book in events, private hire, table bookings, etc.
- Arranging and booking private hire and events from start to finish
- Taking responsibility for the venues Health & Safety protocols to maintain a 5 star hygiene rating
- Supporting training and staff development
- Working in bar and food service role
- Retain information about products and social enterprise model and be able to talk confidently about them with customers
- Treat all customers in a helpful and friendly manner and assist them with their requests
