Description:

FINTEC recruit is seeking a General Operations Manager for our Marine engineering client based in South Shields. This is a permanent role with salary negotiable depending on experience, working Monday to Friday, day hours.
You will required to have strong marine mechanical and electrical technical background with Defence and Commercial experience and knowledge in ship management activities in the UK and internationally. Also to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of contractual obligations related to the operations, procurement, logistic and commercial departments. Our client works across the globe for vessel maintenance and refits etc

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage operations: Oversee the daily operations of the company, including manufacturing, administrative, and support functions
  • Meet goals: Set goals and targets, monitor progress, and make adjustments to ensure the company meets its objectives
  • Ensure compliance: Ensure the company complies with all regulations and standards in the industry
  • Prepare budgets: Prepare budgets and tenders for projects, and review operating budgets and revenue reports
  • Manage relationships: Build professional relationships with customers, and negotiate proposals or resolve conflicts
  • Manage resources: Monitor cash management programs, purchasing practices, and inventories
  • Manage projects: Execute projects, maintain quality standards, and ensure projects are on time and within budget
  • Manage staff: Manage employees, and encourage teamwork and cooperation
  • Manage supply chain: Manage the supply chain, including procurement, packing, and warehousing

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE GENERAL MANAGER ROLE:

  • Knowledge of Class and Flag State Authority requirements and standards
  • Previous experience in operation management particularly in working in dry docks or marine environments
  • Good communications skills with commercial and financial acumen
  • Strong marine mechanical and electrical knowledge with operational management experience.
