We are currently seeking a pro-active and self-motivated Spirit Store Operative to join our Bond Operations team located in Cork on a Permanent contract. Reporting to the Bond Supervisor, you will play a key role in the Cask management process for our award-winning Irish Whiskeys, in our Midleton Distillery. The successful candidate will have previous experience operating in a busy manufacturing environment/manual handling, excellent knowledge of warehouse equipment and a strong H&S outlook.

What’s involved?

  • Unloading various types of casks in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure compliance to all company and site policies.
  • Ensure all relevant Bond Procedures and Quality, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to.
  • Actively bring value adding process improvement ideas to contribute positively to a high performing team.
  • Filling and emptying of casks.
  • Stacking full and empty casks in warehouse and empty cask store using electric powered forklifts
  • Filling and emptying of tankers in the Vat-house tanker station.
  • Ensure hygiene and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Ensure all casks are handled in a safe, careful, and efficient manner.
  • Operating the production line equipment such as the stacker, bander, and coding system
  • Carry out sampling of casks in warehouse.
  • Be aware of risks and risk assessments that apply to each task.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 12 months previous experience in a General Operative role in a Manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience of bringing new ideas and adding value in a manufacturing environment
  • Desire to learn and a comfort using new technology.
  • Knowledge and awareness of quality, environmental, health and safety implications
  • Excellent communications skills
  • A highly motivated self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude
  • A strong team player who is flexible, reliable and can build effective relationships.
  • Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • You will be required to work one late shift in a three-week period.
  • The following although not essential will place candidates at an advantage in the selection process:
  • Significant experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Forklift Experience / license

Working Hours:
A rotating 2 -shift cycle currently operates in the Bond.You will be required to work one late shift (Shift C) in a three-week period.
Shift A/B: 07:00 to 15:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:00 to 14:00 on Friday.
Shift C: 14:45 to 22:45 Monday to Thursday and 13:45 to 20:45 on Friday.
