Compensation Range: $70,000 - $75,000 annually

JOB SUMMARY

The General Supervisor (GS) is responsible for all construction sites including the employees and trades on them. The GS is also responsible for Health & Safety, quality of work, scheduling, timelines, budget, and customer care and satisfaction. Working closely with the Project Management team, the GS’ greatest focus is on the projects and the people working on them, particularly the Foremen, providing them with the knowledge/information, mentorship, and supervision to manage their site and result in a successful project. The GS liaises with the Program Team to ensure the alignment of training from the shop to onsite, and to ensure the effectiveness of the skilled labour team as Trainers. The GS is an integral part of the leadership team and plays a key role as liaison between the office and field teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the field of residential construction (8-10 years experience required)
  • Experience as a Working Foreman in residential construction (5 years minimum)
  • Experience leading/coaching/training an asset
  • Good understanding of Technology an asset
  • Valid G License and satisfactory driving record
  • Must possess basic hand tools and power tools

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor Working Foremen in construction skills while managing skilled labor teams for optimal productivity
  • Conduct performance management including reviews, feedback, and disciplinary actions for Foremen and their teams
  • Coordinate with Training Managers to ensure effective trainer-trainee pairing, skills development, and coaching programs

Project Management & Operations

  • Oversee project execution to maintain timelines and budgets, including resource allocation and trade contractor management
  • Manage scheduling, materials, equipment, and safety supplies coordination with Purchasing department
  • Review and approve timecards, monitor project budgets, and attend building inspections
  • Coordinate vehicle, trailer, and tool maintenance schedules

Communication & Project Coordination

  • Attend and provide updates at tactical and company meetings
  • Facilitate communication between office and field teams to align project needs
  • Monitor project scope, prepare reports on additional work requirements, and communicate material/labor needs to Project Managers

Customer Service & Quality Assurance

  • Manage client relationships including project updates, expectation management, and issue resolution
  • Identify and propose innovative construction methods and materials for process improvement
  • Conduct sales calls and compile project information for office team development

Health & Safety Management

  • Enforce Health & Safety policies and maintain compliance with company regulations
  • Communicate safety concerns and improvement opportunities to HR and JHSC
  • Maintain required certifications (First Aid, Working at Heights, etc.) and participate in ongoing skill development programs
