The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is dedicated to meeting the IT needs of UC Irvine’s faculty, students, and staff. Our goal is to lead in IT services and deliver innovative solutions that support the University’s research, education, and community service objectives.
You’ll join a newly formed, first of its kind dedicated Generative AI team focused on assisting UC Irvine enhance its research profile, streamline administrative tasks, and support teaching and learning across the campus through Gen AI. You will help both administrative & academic departments and programs work through their processes, provide consultation on Gen AI applications and solutions, assist with implementation in some cases, and help develop communities of practice.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Enterprise Cloud and Client Solutions, the Generative AI Business Systems Analyst applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry-wide business process and analysis practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of business process issues of moderate to complex scope involving the opportunities for application of Generative AI and multimodal AI across research, teaching and learning, and administrative use cases. Develops and maintains campus communities of practice for Generative AI. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions.

- In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description. Required
- Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Required
- Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Required
- Broad knowledge relating to software design. Preferred

- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
